Classes for Children

Here at Empowered, we provide free classes to young children (grades 2-6), in all different forms and sizes.

Empowered host friendly events for children of all ages, to connect, form friendships, and (most importantly) have fun!

Our Mission

Empowered seeks to empower immigrants by providing education, connection, and workshops

Events

We host public events for children, allowing them to naturally form childhood friendships and bonds without fellow immigrants, as well as embrace themselves in the English language (without our support if need be)

Free Classes (Gr 2-6)

We provide weekly classes in English, Math, Coding, Art, and Music. Classes are split into 3 different levels, grade 2-3, 3-4, 5-6, or based on skill level in STEM or Arts related classes.

At EUEC, we provide high quality classes so that our students can put their best foot forward in the future!

Book Studies

We host weekly book club sessions, reading books together and providing every children with a high school volunteer to support them. We're split into 3 different reading levels, which is based on age and English ability. 

Mentorship Programs

We provide free mentors based on each child's needs. Services differ, but common ones include: cultural orientation, 1 on 1 classes, and social / emtional

    Cindy Lin - Founder

    Hello! My name is Cindy Lin and I am the founder of EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC).

    I am currently in the 10th grade and passionate about creating a supportive community where young individuals can thrive through mentorship and engaging connections.

    Outside of EUEC, I enjoy listening to music, reading, baking, and shopping! I also love working with younger kids, which fuels my commitment to building a nurturing and empowering space for all.

    I hope to inspire others by sharing my journey and demonstrating that making a positive impact can start at any age. Join me in this exciting venture as we empower each other to reach our fullest potential!

  • Darren Su - Software Architect

    Hi, my name is Darren Su, and I’m the head software architect of EmpoweredUTH, EDUConnect (EUEC). I’m responsible for any and all code in EUEC, as well as STEM classes. Currently in Gr9 studying AI & Gr12 Computer Science.

    As a immigrant and a brother of one, I’ve seen and experienced the hardships immigrants first face when they first land in Canada. I hope to help the community as it has help me and this is my way.

    AT EUEC, we nurture the roots of society, children, supporting and teaching them the ways of a foreign nation; accelerating their adaption at Canada by connect them with friends and teaching them vital subjects in Canada’s curriculum.

    In my free time, you can find me reading fantasy books, playing hockey, or tinkering with neural networks.

  • Nancy Xia - Art Director

    Hello! My name is Nancy Xia and I am the art director of EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC).

    I am currently in the 9th grade and I would really like to support the community where young individuals can gain knowledge and make connections with each other.

    At EUEC, we created an supportive and save environment that allows youth and the leaders to make connections and develop personal growth.

    Outside of EUEC, I enjoy creating different finds of art pieces, listening to music, shopping and reading. I also enjoy working with younger kids and support them in different ways.

    I hope to make connections with them by sharing our different experiences and perspectives in this environment that we created.

    Last but not least, it is a exciting journey as we working together to make a better community!

  • Annie Xu - Education Director

    Greetings, I am the Education Director of the EmpoweredUth, Educonnect (EUEC).

    My name is Annie Xu, I am currently in grade 9, and it is my honour to help empower children through our program.

    We instill in every young mind the profound importance of education and allow the young to engage in their learning interestingly. In today's rapidly evolving world, education is not just a pathway to success but the cornerstone of progress and opportunity.

    Through innovative policies and initiatives, we are committed to fostering an environment where every child can access the support they require while maintaining personal growth.

    Together, the EUEC will help build a future where young people can realize their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

  • Eason Chen - Mangement & Course Executive

    Hi! My name is Eason Chen and I am the executive of the course management and mathematics department of EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC).

    I am currently in 9th grade and am here to help create a supportive community where young individuals can learn and form friendly connections.

    At EUEC, we constantly engage youth through guidance and fun ways of learning by inspiring leaders and caring peers in a supportive environment.

    I will make sure that there will be a program/course suitable for your needs! Outside of EUEC, I enjoy regular walks, playing music, reading, and coding!

    I also enjoy working with younger kids and helping nurture and support them in every way I can through my experience of completing the Leader in Training program for community centres in Oakville, which only powered my ambition to help in our community.

    I hope to set an example of a good leader to others in my ongoing journey of spreading help, support, and love in our community. I hope my actions can empower others to start/continue helping our communities as best as we can!

  • Jiayi Peng - Marketing Director

    Hello! My name is Jiayi Peng and I am the marketing director of EmpoweredUth, EduConnect (EUEC).

    I am currently in the 10th grade and passionate about creating a supportive community where young individuals can thrive through mentorship and engaging connections.

    At EUEC, we connect youth with inspiring role models and supportive peers in an environment that celebrates cultural diversity and personal growth.

    Outside of EUEC, I enjoy playing badminton, drawing, painting, and baking. I also like posting on social media and attending to bring social awareness to topics and organizations. Which i would be in charge of for EUEC.

    I hope to inspire others by sharing my journey and demonstrating that making a positive impact can start at any age.
